The greatest command given to you, as a husband, is found in Ephesians 5:25. There God tells you to, "... love [your wife] as Christ loved the church..."

The immediate question is, "how do I accomplish this?"

For far too long, we have been told this means to, "do more around the house", be a "servant leader," "make sure your wife is always pleased" (this is the old line of, "happy wife, happy life"), and "make sure she is on board before you make any decision."

All of this without ever clarifying what are a husband's roles and responsibilities.

Because of this lack of clarity, many men try to do what they are told, but there is a gnawing feeling that something is off, and lacking. There is a sense of disconnect. That something is amiss, but you can't quite put your finger on it.

What makes matters worse, is after you have done all the things you're told, you look up and that sweet woman, who was smitten by you, seems distant.

The fire that once roared are smoking embers, she has gotten cold.

The everyday, warm interactions between you and your wife has turned into consistently awkward moments.

Sexual intimacy is stagnant, and lacks passion.

And you are left uncertian of what to do next.
